About Axie Infinity
Axie Infinity is a blockchain game in which players collect, breed and battle creatures called Axies, each an NFT. AXS is the governance token of the game's universe, also used for staking and in-game transactions.

The History of Axie Infinity
Developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis and launched in 2018, Axie Infinity became the defining play-to-earn game of 2021, with a large player base in the Philippines and Venezuela. In March 2022 the Ronin bridge suffered one of the largest exploits in crypto history, which the studio subsequently reimbursed. The economy has been redesigned several times since.

AXS is used for breeding Axies, staking, and voting on decisions about the game's treasury and development. It is the central asset of the Axie economy and its related games.
