About EOSIO
EOS is a smart-contract blockchain designed for high throughput and fee-free transactions for end users, with resources allocated by staking rather than paid per action. It launched from one of the largest token sales ever held.
How EOS Works
EOS uses delegated proof of stake: token holders vote for a set of block producers who take turns producing blocks in under a second. Rather than paying a fee for each transaction, accounts stake EOS to claim a share of network bandwidth, CPU and storage, which makes ordinary use free at the point of action.
The History of EOS
Block.one raised roughly four billion dollars over a year-long token sale ending in 2018, the largest on record at the time, and launched the network that June. The relationship between Block.one and the community broke down over unmet commitments, and control passed to the EOS Network Foundation in 2021, which has since rebuilt the technology independently.
What EOS Is Used For
EOS is staked to claim network resources and to vote for block producers, and it carries governance weight over protocol decisions. It is the base asset for applications built on the network.

Why buy EOSIO with YouHodler? +
YouHodler combines advanced security and encryption with a simple way to buy and sell EOS, fast crypto transactions, support for multiple fiat currencies, and a platform that works for newcomers and experienced traders alike.
Is EOSIO a good investment? +
EOS has genuinely fast, fee-free execution and an active independent foundation after a difficult separation from its original backer. It lost much of its developer base during those years and competes against far larger ecosystems. EOS is volatile — research the network's current state before investing.
Can I buy EOSIO today and sell it tomorrow? +
Yes. YouHodler supports selling as well as buying, so you can acquire EOS and later exchange it for fiat currencies such as USD or EUR. Transactions settle quickly, major fiat currencies are supported, and withdrawals go out by bank transfer.
Is it safe to buy EOSIO? +
Buying EOS is generally safe on a reliable platform like YouHodler, which applies data encryption, identity verification and multi-layer account protection. The asset itself stays highly volatile, so prices can move sharply over short periods.
How do I convert EOSIO to cash? +
Connect a bank account, debit card or credit card to your YouHodler profile, exchange your EOS for a fiat currency such as USD or EUR, then withdraw the balance straight to your bank.
How much is $100 worth of EOSIO right now? +
That depends on the live EOS price, which moves constantly. Use the price chart on this page to see the current rate and work out exactly how much EOS $100 buys at this moment.
