About Lido DAO
Lido is the largest liquid staking protocol, letting holders stake Ethereum without running a validator or locking their assets. Stakers receive stETH, a token that keeps earning while staying usable across DeFi. LDO is the governance token.
How Lido Works
Deposited ETH is distributed across a curated set of professional node operators, and the depositor receives stETH representing their staked position plus accumulated rewards. Because stETH is liquid, it can be used as collateral or traded while the underlying ETH remains staked — the property that made liquid staking dominant.
The History of Lido
Lido launched in December 2020, shortly after Ethereum's staking contract opened, and grew into the largest single staker on the network. That scale has prompted a long-running debate about validator concentration, and the protocol has worked to broaden its operator set in response.
What LDO Is Used For
LDO governs the protocol: holders vote on node operator selection, fee parameters and treasury decisions. Those votes carry unusual weight given the share of Ethereum staking the protocol represents.

Why buy Lido DAO with YouHodler? +
YouHodler combines advanced security and encryption with a simple way to buy and sell LDO, fast crypto transactions, support for multiple fiat currencies, and a platform that works for newcomers and experienced traders alike.
Is Lido DAO a good investment? +
Lido dominates liquid staking and earns a fee on a very large share of staked Ethereum, giving LDO governance over significant infrastructure. That dominance is also its main risk: concentration concerns invite both protocol-level countermeasures and regulatory attention, and competitors have been gaining ground. LDO is volatile — research it before investing.
Can I buy Lido DAO today and sell it tomorrow? +
Yes. YouHodler supports selling as well as buying, so you can acquire LDO and later exchange it for fiat currencies such as USD or EUR. Transactions settle quickly, major fiat currencies are supported, and withdrawals go out by bank transfer.
Is it safe to buy Lido DAO? +
Buying LDO is generally safe on a reliable platform like YouHodler, which applies data encryption, identity verification and multi-layer account protection. The asset itself stays highly volatile, so prices can move sharply over short periods.
How do I convert Lido DAO to cash? +
Connect a bank account, debit card or credit card to your YouHodler profile, exchange your LDO for a fiat currency such as USD or EUR, then withdraw the balance straight to your bank.
How much is $100 worth of Lido DAO right now? +
That depends on the live LDO price, which moves constantly. Use the price chart on this page to see the current rate and work out exactly how much LDO $100 buys at this moment.
