About Usual
Usual is a protocol issuing USD0, a dollar-denominated stablecoin backed by tokenized short-term US treasuries. It redistributes the revenue those reserves generate to its community rather than retaining it. USUAL is the governance token.
How Usual Works
USD0 is backed by tokenized treasury bills held through regulated issuers, so the collateral sits outside the crypto credit system. Holders can lock USD0 into a longer-dated version in exchange for USUAL tokens, which is how the protocol passes reserve revenue to participants instead of keeping it as issuer profit.
The History of Usual
Founded by Pierre Person, a former French member of parliament, Usual launched in 2024 with the explicit argument that stablecoin issuers capture reserve revenue that should belong to holders. It grew quickly and has been through public disputes over changes to its redemption mechanics.
What USUAL Is Used For
USUAL carries governance rights over the protocol's parameters, collateral and revenue distribution. It is also the reward distributed to those who lock USD0, and can be staked for a share of protocol earnings.

Why buy Usual with YouHodler? +
YouHodler combines advanced security and encryption with a simple way to buy and sell USUAL, fast crypto transactions, support for multiple fiat currencies, and a platform that works for newcomers and experienced traders alike.
Is Usual a good investment? +
Usual attacks a real asymmetry — stablecoin issuers keeping the return on reserves — and backs its token with treasury-bill collateral rather than crypto credit. It is young, and a 2025 change to redemption terms showed that governance can alter holder economics abruptly. USUAL is volatile and high risk — research the current mechanics before investing.
Can I buy Usual today and sell it tomorrow? +
Yes. YouHodler supports selling as well as buying, so you can acquire USUAL and later exchange it for fiat currencies such as USD or EUR. Transactions settle quickly, major fiat currencies are supported, and withdrawals go out by bank transfer.
Is it safe to buy Usual? +
Buying USUAL is generally safe on a reliable platform like YouHodler, which applies data encryption, identity verification and multi-layer account protection. The asset itself stays highly volatile, so prices can move sharply over short periods.
How do I convert Usual to cash? +
Connect a bank account, debit card or credit card to your YouHodler profile, exchange your USUAL for a fiat currency such as USD or EUR, then withdraw the balance straight to your bank.
How much is $100 worth of Usual right now? +
That depends on the live USUAL price, which moves constantly. Use the price chart on this page to see the current rate and work out exactly how much USUAL $100 buys at this moment.
