About VET
VET is the native asset of VeChain, a blockchain built for supply-chain tracking and enterprise use. The network uses a two-token model that shields business users from volatile transaction costs.
How VeChain Works
Holding VET generates VTHO, a second token that pays transaction fees. Because businesses can budget fees by holding VET rather than buying a volatile asset each time they transact, costs stay predictable. Consensus runs through authority nodes, a deliberately permissioned design that favours enterprise requirements over open participation.
The History of VeChain
Founded in 2015 by Sunny Lu, a former chief information officer at Louis Vuitton China, VeChain launched its own chain in 2018. It has pursued enterprise partnerships in logistics, luxury goods authentication, food safety and carbon tracking rather than retail DeFi.
What VET Is Used For
VET is held to generate VTHO for fees and is staked by node operators in the network's economic model. It is the base asset for the enterprise applications built on VeChain.

Why buy VET with YouHodler? +
YouHodler combines advanced security and encryption with a simple way to buy and sell VET, fast crypto transactions, support for multiple fiat currencies, and a platform that works for newcomers and experienced traders alike.
Is VET a good investment? +
VeChain has pursued enterprise adoption consistently for years and its two-token model genuinely solves a problem businesses care about. Its authority-node consensus is far less decentralized than public alternatives, and enterprise blockchain adoption has been slower than the sector hoped. VET is volatile — research it before investing.
Can I buy VET today and sell it tomorrow? +
Yes. YouHodler supports selling as well as buying, so you can acquire VET and later exchange it for fiat currencies such as USD or EUR. Transactions settle quickly, major fiat currencies are supported, and withdrawals go out by bank transfer.
Is it safe to buy VET? +
Buying VET is generally safe on a reliable platform like YouHodler, which applies data encryption, identity verification and multi-layer account protection. The asset itself stays highly volatile, so prices can move sharply over short periods.
How do I convert VET to cash? +
Connect a bank account, debit card or credit card to your YouHodler profile, exchange your VET for a fiat currency such as USD or EUR, then withdraw the balance straight to your bank.
How much is $100 worth of VET right now? +
That depends on the live VET price, which moves constantly. Use the price chart on this page to see the current rate and work out exactly how much VET $100 buys at this moment.
